Description

DÖRR DHG NEUTRAL DENSITY FILTER ND32

ND filters (ND = neutral density), darken the image evenly and neutrally, similar to sunglasses for our eyes. Neutral means that there are no changes of colour, sharpness, contrast, and brilliance in the picture. Since the same darkening is not suitable for every subject, DÖRR neutral density filters are available in various grades. ND filters are simply screwed into the filter thread of the lens.

HOW DOES A DÖRR DHG NEUTRAL DENSITY FILTER ND32 WORK?

✓ When using a DÖRR DHG ND32 filter, the exposure time is increased by a factor of 32x. For example: if an exposure time of 1/1000s is required (without filter), the exposure time can be extended to 1/30s (1000s x 32 = 1/30s) with a DÖRR DHG ND32 filter.

✓ When using a DÖRR DHG ND32 filter, the aperture can be opened 5 stops (f-stops) further. For example: if an aperture of 8 is required (without filter), it can be changed to 1.4 with a DÖRR DHG ND32 filter.

WHY DO YOU NEED A DÖRR DHG ND32 FILTER?

During the day it is often too bright for long exposure times, especially when the sun is shining. With the DÖRR DHG ND32 filter you may take pictures with exposure time of several seconds even during the day.

FOR WHICH MOTIFS THE DÖRR DHG ND32 FILTER IS SUITABLE?

A long exposure time is required for all moving objects you want to depict with motion blur. These are mainly landscape shots of waterfalls, rivers, the sea, branches in a storm and passing clouds. An ND32 filter is also very helpful for backlit shots where the sun is coming from the front.

WHAT MEANS “DHG”?

DHG stands for Digital High Grade. The filter surfaces are coated with DHG Multi Coating on both sides. This ensures an optimum contrast, high brilliance and neutral colours.

THE FILTER FRAME

The ultra slim frame avoids vignetting. The matt black metal frame and black glass edges reduce reflections. The filters are fitted with a front thread to attach further accessories.

The DÖRR DHG Filters ND32 are available in diameters from 37 mm to 82 mm.
