Description

DÖRR DHG LIGHT CONTROL FILTER ND3.0 1000X

ND filters (ND = neutral density), darken the image evenly and neutrally, similar to sunglasses for our eyes. Neutral means that there are no changes of colour, sharpness, contrast, and brilliance in the picture. Since the same darkening is not suitable for every subject, DÖRR neutral density filters are available in various grades. ND filters are simply screwed into the filter thread of the lens.

HOW DOES A DÖRR DHG FILTER ND3.0 1000X WORK?

✓ When using a DÖRR DHG Light Control Filter ND3.0 1000x, the exposure time is increased by a factor of 1000x. For example: if an exposure time of 1/1000s is required (without filter), the exposure time can be extended to 1s (1000s x 1000 = 1s) with a DÖRR DHG Light Control Filter ND3.0 1000x.

✓ When using a DÖRR DHG Light Control Filter ND3.0 1000x, the aperture can be opened 10 stops (f-stops) further. For example: if an aperture of 32 is required (without filter), it can be changed to 1.0 with a DÖRR DHG Light Control Filter ND3.0 1000x.

WHY DO YOU NEED A DÖRR DHG FILTER ND3.0 1000X?

During the day it is often too bright for long exposure times, especially when the sun is shining. With the DÖRR DHG Light Control Filter ND3.0 1000x you may take pictures with exposure time of several seconds even during the day.

FOR WHICH MOTIFS THE DÖRR DHG FILTER ND3.0 1000X IS SUITABLE?

A long exposure time is required for all moving objects you want to depict with motion blur. These are mainly landscape shots of waterfalls, rivers, the sea, branches in a storm and passing clouds. An ND3.0 1000x is also very helpful for backlit shots where the sun is coming from the front. With a correspondingly long exposure time, you can even make people who move in crowded places disappear completely.

Please note: The darkening is too strong for the autofocus function. Proceed like this:
1. Adjust the focus
2. Switch off the autofocus function
3. Screw the filter into the filter thread
4. Set exposure and release

WHAT MEANS “DHG”?

DHG stands for Digital High Grade. The filter surfaces are coated with DHG Multi Coating on both sides. This ensures an optimum contrast, high brilliance and neutral colours.

THE FILTER FRAME

The ultra slim frame avoids vignetting. The matt black metal frame and black glass edges reduce reflections. The filters are fitted with a front thread to attach further accessories.

The DHG Light Control Filter ND3.0 1000x are available in diameters from 37 mm to 82 mm.
